Hello, we are NET team 3, the Cincinnati Regional team. It has officially been three weeks since we’ve been on the road and it has been an incredibly amazing journey thus far. As a regional team, we have been going all over the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and have slowly been experiencing what Ohio is like. We are enjoying all the opportunities we have to be a witnesses of Christ with the youth, our host homes, parishioners, and everyone else we meet along the way.
One way we are witnesses of our faith is through evangelization, which is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In particular, it has been said multiple times that we become who we surround ourselves with, and here on our team, we have not only been leading and calling each other to holiness, but also exemplifying a sense of community to our youth. In fact, during our retreats, we are often affirmed in building a positive community amongst the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. It is so imperative that we bring this positive influence to those we meet to encourage them to spread the good news and to remind them that they are not alone in their faith.
“I’ll be going back to school in a couple of days and I know I’ll be seeing more people who I can wave to and know that they will wave back at me.” – Tess
“I absolutely love the community that NET shows” – Allison
Finally, one of the most important aspects of our NET retreats is prayer ministry – it’s where the youth get to grow closer to God and for us to physically see how they respond to His love for them. We’ve noticed that prayer ministry is such a powerful tool for youth to grow in their relationship with Christ because in giving the youth the opportunity for prayer, they become vulnerable and open up to whatever the Lord is speaking to them. Specifically, we had a young person, Harper, who has mentioned “I have neglected God my whole life but now my eyes have been opened to Him.” It was through prayer where she encountered a new perspective of life.
