“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Hello from Providence Academy for the last time this NET Year! As our time here comes to a close, we have mixed emotions as we look forward to the opportunities that await us next year, but also look back on the relationships we’ve made that we’ll have to leave behind. We’ve been so blessed to work at a beautiful school this year with people just as beautiful who have a desire to grow closer to our Lord. We’ve created many wonderful relationships we know will continue for years to come, and we hope to have nurtured a good community for next year’s team, just as last year’s team did for us.

It’s amazing to see students who are striving so hard to grow closer to God. Some have even expressed interest in following in our footsteps and serving with NET! It’s beautiful to see students as young as 6th grade expressing an interest in their faith because we can only imagine what wonderful saints they will become if they stay on that path! We’ve also been able to see this change in ourselves. Lydia (19 years old) shared some of her experience:

“I think the biggest thing for me and my growth on NET has been in my confidence. Not only in myself but in the gifts the Lord has given to me. The Lord has shown me how I can be his instrument, especially in my gift of music. I know my worrying is useless and that the Lord will provide and His Will will always be done. He always has our good in mind even when we can’t see it. He reveals Himself to us especially in the hard times and teaches us to rejoice with Him in the good times. I have come to know so much peace because I know my life is in the Lord’s hands.”

This idea of trusting in the Lord’s ability to provide has really resonated with the rest of the team as well. One of our biggest themes this year has been recognizing our true brokenness and in doing so, humbling ourselves before the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. We know the Lord is always present with us in our team life and our ministry, and that’s why it’s so important to be rooted in prayer and be totally docile to His Spirit if we are to fulfill His Will for us.

“You will show me the path to life, abounding joy in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.”

Psalm 16:11

Thank you for your support and prayers throughout this NET year. We couldn’t have done it without you. We simply want to encourage you to rely on the Lord and His will because it is only in Him that we will find true joy, happiness, and strength all the days of our lives.

Many blessings,
Team 11
