Hey everyone, for those of you who aren’t familiar with our team, we are the home team for the 17’-18’ year which means that we are based out of Saint Paul, MN and travel around the tri-state areas putting on retreats for the youth! We’re so excited to have the opportunity to serve here on NET and we wanted to get the chance to introduce ourselves to you guys. My name is Phillip and I’m 20 years old and I grew up near Dallas, Texas. Before coming here to serve on NET I attended Franciscan University for a year and I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to serve here on NET with such an amazing team. Hello, my name is Lizzy and I’m 18 years old. I grew up in Elko, NV and my two favorite things are Jesus and brownies and we will be writing these awesome blogs so that you can get to know us and see into the life of the home team.
So we have two amazing team leaders, Kate Holleman and Christian Gutierrez, and we wanted to give them the chance to say hi to everyone. Hey friends, my name is Kate I’m 20 years old from Texas and I’m so grateful for the ways God has already worked in my life and on our team this year. I love experiencing life in Minnesota and look forward to a lot of adventures. My name is Christian, I’m from Turlock, California and I recently graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. I had no idea what I was going to do after college and I had decided not to do NET but God worked his way through people in my life and clearly he changed my mind. Now, a couple months in, I’m co-leading the Home Team. It’s been a beautiful, yet challenging, adventure.
We are beginning to see all of the wonderful things we get to experience as being on the home team. We got to experience our first lifeline event on October 7th and we just had another this past Saturday on November 4th with Father Mike Schmitz. Lifeline is an event here at the NET center that happens once a month where the youth come together to experience Christ through music, games, speakers, mass, and adoration. It is powerful and encouraging to seeing the Holy Spirit so alive and present in the youth as we help run this powerful event and we are so blessed and honored that we get to take part in it. Other events that are centered around the home team are NET nights and Confirmation Retreat Weekends (CRWs). Through both of these events we have more time with the youth to see them be further transformed in the faith. We can’t wait to see all of the amazing ways God will work in and through us for his greater glory. It’s incredible how God is able to work in ourselves as well as others over the course of three hours or three days without us even realizing it. “What a blessing it is to be small” (St. Teresa of Calcutta).
We are looking forward to giving everyone more updates throughout the year to see just how much more the Lord will provide for us and love us. Thank you all for your support and encouragement in our mission. We would like prayers to stay open to the love of the Lord and to be filled by him and trust in his power as well as for all of our friends and family back home! We will be praying for you as well and hope that you too may be filled with the love of Christ.
Thank you and God Bless,
