Hello from Providence Academy!

Wow, it’s amazing to think we are already halfway through with the second semester. The saying “time flies when you’re having fun” has definitely applied to this first half of the second semester. We’ve really started to get to the core of those relationships we started forming in the Fall with the students, our team, and most importantly, God.

As far as the team goes, we’ve found that one of the most important things to us is that we find the time to talk to each other and touch base before our ministry calls us in nine different directions.  Many would think that because we’re in the same school from 7:45 AM until around 9:00 PM that we would spend a lot of time together and see each other the entire day, but the realities of working in a school are slightly different. We continuously find ourselves in adventures or conversations outside of those we knew we were having when we woke up that morning.

The Spirit constantly provides us with opportunities to minister to the students at Providence, but we’ve also come to appreciate those times that we have outside of its yellow walls.

Some days, we find that we haven’t seen each other in hours by the time school is over, so we make sure to make the best of Team Days, coffee runs, and mornings spent playing cards at Panera.

Now that we’re aware of the challenges a School Team faces, our team life has been flourishing. We’ve been able to spend an afternoon watching movies at one of our host homes as well as go on an impromptu scavenger hunt in a nearby mall. We’ve taken advantage of our mutual love of coffee by adventuring into some of Minneapolis’ local cafes.

Having down time as a team has helped significantly in how we work together in our ministry. Every once in awhile, a faculty member, parent, or even a student will comment on the positive relationships we have with each other. Through Christ, our mission inspires them to love people the people around them and focus on the good We’re so grateful to have the opportunity to show and spread our love for Christ to the families of Providence Academy. With only a few months left, we know that there is still work to be done, but we are confident that with our growing love for the Lord, the students, and each other, we will be able to follow through with what the Lord has asked of us. Thank you for your support and prayers.

Many Blessings,
Team 11
