Hello from Team One! We just finished up our time on the road and are back at the NET Center for wrap up week, where we close up our time together this year. Since our last post we have traveled quite a bit around the southeast states, including Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, and Texas. Our last retreats have been amazing; we had a great weekend retreat in Florida, where the youth were already on fire for the Lord. It was great to see the strong sense of fellowship and being a part of the Holy Spirit guiding the whole weekend. After Florida we headed over to Texas, and did our last few retreats in between the dioceses of San Antonio and San Angelo.
The communities in San Antonio and San Angelo are full of NET alumni and young Catholic people living out their faith. It was very encouraging for us as we begin to wrap up our time on NET and prepare to head home. We have all become very accustomed to a strong, faith-filled community of close friends, which is a given since we’ve all been living together for 9 months now. It will be a huge adjustment for most of us, since a lot of us are going home to a community where not many “Netters” come from.
The past few weeks on the road for us have been great. We are still learning so much about each other, and still have so much to learn about one another. We have spent a lot of time just hanging out with one another, strengthening our relationships as brothers and sisters. We have met a lot of NET alumni recently and when they say goodbye to us they always tell us to cherish this last bit of time together, continue to grow closer, and love, love, love, love. And that’s what we have all been striving for: loving one another, loving host families, loving retreatants, and bringing love and light to a society that has a twisted mindset of “truth.”
This year has been an amazing experience for all of us, and it will be hard to say goodbye in a few days, but we are hoping these relationships will last a lifetime. It will be weird at first but we all hope were able to take everything we’ve learned this year home with us to continue on our journey towards Heaven. We are all disciples for the Lord, and we are aware that we must bring the Gospel to people everywhere, weather we are serving on NET or back at home.
We ask that you keep us in your prayers, that the Lord will continue to show us how to love the way Christ loves. Know that we will be praying for you, sending prayers of thanksgiving for all the support this year, sending prayers for your families, and friends, and all prayer intentions that you have in trusted us with. Thank you for help making this year possible.
